MUNIST Day 3: The Closing Ceremony
The final day of MUNIST saw delegates round off their topics in their committees, continuing to debate diplomatically right through to the end. Delegates described their experience at MUNIST 2025 as exciting, eye-opening and entertaining as well as challenging and intense.
Then came the closing ceremony - kicked off by the Secretary General, who gave a warm thanks to all delegates, chairs, teachers and staff for attending, as well as a special thanks to IST’s principal, Rachel Leonard, and the Head of Primary, Alison Pattinson, for their support and help in making MUNIST 2025 possible.
Next came what all delegates had been waiting for - the awards. Chairs from each committee selected 3 delegates to receive awards - one “Honourable Mention” award, one “Best Diplomat” award and one “Best Delegate” award.

First, the chair of the Security Council gave a warm thanks to the MUNIST 2025 executive team before presenting their awards; Best Delegate to Uzbekistan, Best Diplomat to China, and Honourable Mention to Taiwan.
Second, the chair of UNHRC awarded Switzerland the Best Delegate for their amazing speeches and many POIS, United Kingdom the Best Diplomat for their outstanding resolutions, and Rwanda got the Honourable Mention for actively participating despite it being their first conference.
Next, the chair of UNICEF gave Best Delegate to Cuba for speaking insightfully, Best Diplomat to USA for their liveliness, and Honourable Mention to Philippines for their controversial yet interesting arguments.
The chair of ECOSOC then handed out the Best Delegate award to India, the Best Diplomat award to China, and the Honourable Mention award to the USA before the chair of WHO gave Best Delegate to Laos, Best Diplomat to Bolivia and Honourable Mention to Somalia.
Finally, the chair of DISEC announced their awards; Best Delegate to France for their challenging POIS and precision in statements, Best Diplomat to New Zealand for defending their resolutions amazingly and Honourable Mention to Iran for never breaking from their country’s perspective and maintaining the flow of the debate.

As the applause faded, our Secretary General took the podium once more. With a final thank you, MUNIST 2025 came to a close.

The MUNIST Press Team would like to extend a warm thank you to all the teachers, delegates, and members working rigorously behind the scenes who helped make the documenting of this conference possible. Until next year!
